My Weapon of Choice

Beretta 9mm. This semi-automatic model, characterized by a solid locked breech system, with a rotating barrel, takes advantage of the maximum energy received during firing to produce a very low recoil. This pistol is particularly suitable for personal defense.

Chat away!

  • Hi Jeff - Sorry if you're getting hammered for having what seems to me to be a fairly common name - on to the topic at hand.

I owned a Beretta 92FS 9mm - a very nice piece... but I now own a 96FS, the 40 caliber moder. They share the same frame and basic construction, but with the added stopping power of the bigger round.

Oh, did I mention I'm a liberal? Yep. I like guns. I think the 2nd Amendment, reasonably interpreted, is a good thing.

Back to the 96FS/92FS. I'm not sure if you've seen this, but thsi site offers a conversion slide that lets you quickly switch to .22 caliber ammo for plinking and target practice. Haven't got one myself, but I'm thinking about it.

Anyway. Keep on keepin' on. This will probably be a fun story to tell the grandkids. Especially if the other Jeff turns out to be a complete rat.

  • I've had my eye on a conversion slide for a while now myself. I can't remember the last time I did any plinking.

  • I carry a S&W Tactical Model 4013 w/laser site. Not bad for a Liberal Democrat.
